Supporting the Choral Community Amid Los Angeles Wildfires

Our hearts and thoughts are with our members, friends, and communities in Los Angeles and California as they continue to face the devastating impact of wildfires.

Many of our member organizations and individuals have been directly affected, facing challenges to their homes, families, and creative spaces. We’ve been inspired by the response we’ve seen from choruses in the area, whether that’s the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus starting its own relief fund to support LACC families affected by the fires, the Los Angeles Master Chorale offering free tickets to first responders, or the Pasadena Chorale coming together to rehearse in a new space just a few days after the church it normally rehearses at burned.

Ways to Support

The strength of our choral community lies in our shared compassion and care. We invite you to donate to support the recovery of the choral community and arts professionals.

CCDA Fund: CCDA (California Choral Directors Association, an affiliate of ACDA National) has set up a fund to support the choirs of Southern California as they go through the painstaking process of rebuilding. “CCDA is uniquely positioned to do this work because we represent all types of choirs in California, from educational organizations to faith-based and community groups. We also recognize that this process could take months, if not years,” said president-elect Kristina Nakagawa.

Entertainment Community Fund: Provides emergency financial assistance to eligible performing arts and entertainment professionals.

Sweet Relief Musicians Fund: Provides immediate financial assistance to music industry professionals. Funds raised go towards loss of music-related equipment, medical bills related to the event, and other vital-living expenses.
